Goats and humans are connected by a long history: over 9000 years, goats have lived next to us as one of the first domestic and farm animals. The healing properties of the goat whey have been known to humans since the ancient times. Already the Greek physician Hippocrates described the benefits of the goat milk, and the Egyptian queen Cleopatra took whey baths every day in order to keep her skin youthful. In the late 18th and the beginning of the 19th century goat whey became a well-known remedy and such health resorts as Weissbad, Gontenbad and Gais in Appenzell gained popularity. Jakobsbad was founded in 1845 and offered goat and cow whey treatments.
The fresh goat whey for LediBelle skin care comes exclusively from Appenzell goats and is produced by Mathias Koch in Gonten. In order to produce cheese the goat milk is refined, and the fresh whey separated from it is used for the cosmetic manufacture.
Goat whey is rich in essential nutrients. Calcium, sodium, magnesium, vitamins A, B1, B2, C, D, E and the precious natural coenzyme Q10 support skin cell build-up and renewal. The lactic acid strengthens the acid mantle of the skin which protects the skin from harmful bacteria, negative environmental influence, infections, inflammation, irritation, allergies and dryness. Goat whey promotes blood circulation, stimulates skin cells, improves elasticity and visibly reduces fine lines.
